Map My Mole Service
Mole Mapping brought to you by Map My Mole and Community Dermatology
The Four Seasons Salon is proud to announce that we are now an official Map My Mole registered clinic.
As a Map My Mole clinic, we are excited to be part of Community Dermatology's mission to revolutionise access to skin lesion checks across the UK.
With Map My Mole, remote assessment of moles and skin lesions are offered by Consultant Dermatologists, via our registered clinic.
As a premises offering a variety of skin and body treatments, this service is the next step in raising awareness of the dangers of Skin Cancer, the importance of skin protection, and access to professional mole and lesion checks via registered Consultant Dermatologists, without lengthy waits on the NHS.
The aim of the Map My Mole service is primarily to prioritise skin health, and contribute to the early detection and prevention of Skin Cancer.
At The Four Seasons Salon, we have undertaken training within a service which is aligned with the British Association of Dermatologists Teledermatology guidelines, using a UK certified, Class 1 medical device.
About Mole Mapping...
Mole Mapping involves the capturing of high-resolution, polarised images using a Class 1 medical device called a Dermatoscope. These images are then sent off to a Consultant Dermatologist for review, resulting in a signed, detailed report of the Consultant Dermatologist's findings/opinion(s) within 24-48 hours.
The service has been designed to avoid the lengthy NHS wait times, especially in the event that the client is anxious or concerned and would like to pay privately for prompt assessment.
In many cases with the NHS, clients would have to arrange a GP appointment, and endure a lengthy wait for an NHS Dermatology appointment for review of the mole/lesion prior to a possible wait for results and next steps.
Alternatively, private Dermatology fees can range from £175-£300, in the event that the client does not have private medical insurance.
With the Map My Mole service, we aim to provide local and easily accessible mole screening at a low cost for up to 3 lesions in 1 appointment, starting at just £60 for the first lesion.
From arriving for appointment to reading your detailed report of the findings of a Consultant Dermatologist, you could have peace of mind or recommended next steps within 24-48 hours.
What is the process?
Book your Map My Mole appointment
At your appointment
Book your Map My Mole appointment via our online booking system.
You will be asked to complete Card Capture in order to confirm your appointment. No payment will be taken at this point, however card details will be stored securely to protect the business in the event of a last-minute cancellation or a no-show. You can pay for your appointment using all major credit/debit cards or cash, on the day.
Your therapist will use a Dermatoscope device to take high quality, polarised pictures of your mole or lesion. The device is a UK certified Class 1 medical device, designed to capture images of your mole or lesion for assessment by a Consultant Dermatologist specialising in skin conditions and Skin Cancer.
We will carry out an in-depth consultation designed by Community Dermatology, in order to gain a clear picture of your medical history, lifestyle, and the mole/lesion.
The consultation form and high resolution images will be sent directly to Community Dermatology for assessment.
You pay for your appointment at this stage.
24-48 hours later: Your report
Once your images have been thoroughly assessed by a Consultant Dermatologist, you will receive an e-mail within 24-48 hours with detailed feedback on your mole/lesion, and the recommended next steps. The salon will also receive a copy of your report.
These next steps may include immediate referral to GP/Dermatology, recommendation for removal of benign lesions whereby irritation occurs (or for cosmetic reasons), or no further action required, to name a few.
What are the costs?
For a single client, within the same appointment, our pricing is clear:
First mole/lesion check:
£60.00
Additional mole/lesion checks:
£30.00 each
Any additional mole or lesion checks after the initial check must be carried out on the same day, to benefit from the £30 offer.

Will my report tell me if I have Skin Cancer?
No.
It is very important to note that Skin Cancer cannot be diagnosed using images alone.
In the event that the Consultant Dermatologist finds the mole/lesion to appear suspicious, this will be detailed in your report with the recommended next steps.
In most cases of suspicion, you will be asked to arrange a face-to-face appointment with your GP or Dermatologist, showing your Doctor your signed report with the Consultant Dermatologist's findings and opinion(s), with the aim of speeding up the referral process.
In the event of serious suspicion of Skin Cancer, a member of Community Dermatology will telephone you to ensure you have received your copy of your report, and guide you through these next steps, answering any questions you may have.
These next steps may include Dermatology carrying out a biopsy in order to identify whether or not the suspicious tissue may or may not be Cancer. This cannot be diagnosed from photographs alone, however these high resolution photographs are very useful in the early detection of suspicious tissue which may result in early detection, prevention or treatment for Skin Cancer.
